BIOGRAPHY
Ang Hooon Seng was born in Singapore in 1933, is of Chaozhou descent from the Guangdong Province.
Art Education
Basically, a self-educated calligraphy/artist. He is a Chartered Secretary and Administrator UK. (ACIS) with has a keen interest in Chinese culture, particularly in calligraphy, brush-painting and wood-carving. He learned the art of calligraphy from the master pieces from the accomplished ancient masters. They include Zhang Yao, Wei Dynasty (151-220AD), Liu Kang-Ch’uan, Tang Dynasty (718-865), Ouyang Hsun, Tang Dynasty (557-641), Huang His-Chih, Eastern Chin (307-365), Mei Fu, Sung Dynasty (1051-1107), Chau-Meng-Fu, Yuan Dynasty (1254-1322), Thong Chi-Ch’ang, Ming Dynasty (1555-1636), Chang Hsu, Tang Dynasty (713-740), Chang Chih, Late Han Dynasty (196-217), etc. He seized the opportunity to call on the contemporary accomplished calligraphers in Beijing during the period from 1990-1999 when he was posted to Beijing for development of banking business by his employer, Overseas Union Bank Ltd. He established good relationships with these calligraphers and learned a lot from them. They included Professors Qi Gong, Ouyang Chang-Shi, etc.

2011 - Major calligraphy in cursive style selected by the Chinese for engraving on stone for permanent display at the Calligraphy Pavilion in Jilin Province, China
